Wednesday 26: Saints Cosmas and Damian. Patrons of physicians.

Thursday 27: St Vincent de Paul. Priest, lived 1580 – 1660. He is the patron of all charitable works.

Saturday 29: Archangels, Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.

ST PIO ANNIVERSARY MASS

Today we welcome Bishop McKeown to Holy Rosary Church where he will be the chief celebrant at a special Mass at 3.00 pm in honour of St Pio of Pietrlecina. September 23 is the fiftieth anniversary of St. Pio’s death and the centenary of him receiving the stigmata on his body.

This special Mass will be followed by a blessing with a relic of St Pio.

FORTY HOURS

Forty Hours Adoration will take place next weekend in Ballinascreen Parish beginning on Sunday 30 September after 11.00 am Mass in St Columba’s Straw. It will close that evening at 5.00 pm with Eucharistic Devotions.

Forty Hours will continue on Monday 1 October in the Holy Rosary Church after 10.00 am Mass and conclude with Mass at 7.30 pm.

SR CONSILIO ~ CUAN MHUIRE

Sr Consilio's is a by word for support and recovery for those suffering from alcohol and other addictions in Ireland today.

Friends of Cuan Mhuire, a nationwide network of support for those being helped at one of the Sr Consilio Centres, will be attending all Masses in Ballinascreen Parish next weekend (29 and 30 September) to speak about their work. A church door collection in support of Sr Consilio’s will taken up after all Masses.

There will be no SVP collection next weekend.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Adoration in Holy Rosary Church on Monday September 24 will begin after 10.00 am Mass and continue until 7.25 pm. Mass at 7.30 pm.

FIRST COMMUNION CHILDREN 2019

Do This in Memory, First Holy Communion Preparation Programme, commences with a Mass of Enrolment for all Primary 4 children in the Holy Rosary Church at 12 noon on Sunday 7 October. All Primary 4 children and their families are warmly invited and encouraged to attend this family and parish focussed programme.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

Friday Mass at 7.30 pm in St Columba’s Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office before Thursday of the relevant week.

POPE JOHN PAUL II AWARD PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

Annual Pope John Paul II Award Pilgrimage to Knock on Tuesday 25 September, for young people ages 16 -18 who may be interested in participating in the Award or are currently doing it. Starts at 11.00 am and concludes with Mass at 3.00 pm. Main celebrant Bishop McKeown. Guest speakers: Sr Ethel Normoyle, Little Company of Mary and Alan Kerins, Irish sportsman, humanitarian and social entrepreneur. Music by Elation Ministries. PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

Derry Search Youth Group with COR Strabane are hosting six Prayer and Praise events on every second Sunday, starting 7 October in the Search Centre, Unit 5 Iona Business Park,Derry. God’s Word will be shared through music, prayer, testimonies and drama. Open to everyone age 14+.
