RELICS OF ST BERNADETTE IN DERRY DIOCESE

The Holy Relics of St. Bernadette are on pilgrimage from Lourdes to Ireland for the very first time, and will visit St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry from 2.00 pm today, Sunday, until tomorrow, Monday. This very special, event will provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the special gifts and charisms of Lourdes in their diocese. The programme over the two days will be led by parishes, choirs, faith groups and organisations from across the diocese.


HARVEST MASS

St Colm's High School will celebrate a 'Harvest Mass' in Holy Rosary Church at 2.00 pm on Tuesday 15 October.  All welcome.

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE

The Annual Mass of Remembrance held each year in November will take place on the following dates:

Ballinascreen on Monday 11 November in Holy Rosary Church at 7.30 pm and Desertmartin on Monday 18 November in St Patrick's Church Keenaught at 7.30 pm.

WARM WELCOME WEDNESDAY ~ Protecting Yourself from Scams

 Mid Ulster’s Crime Prevention Officer will be present on Wednesday 16 October at 12 noon to advise what can be done to keep ourselves safe and how to stay one step ahead of scammers. Information on general crime prevention  will also be provided. Open to all, entrance is free, no need to book, just drop-in. Refreshments served.


FLU AND COVID-19 VACCINES

Walk-in vaccination clinics are now running at O'Kanes Clinical Pharmacy (High Street). 

Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm for those that meet eligibility criteria.

Private flu vaccines are also available for those over 18 that do not meet the eligibility criteria. For more details please ring 028 79628680.


WELLBEING EVENT FOR MEN

Nóra Murray along with other speakers will be hosting an evening on Saturday 19 October at 7.00 pm sharp in the Club for all men over 18 on mental health and wellbeing.  This event is open to the whole community and beyond. It will give you the opportunity to listen to those with lived experiences, an opportunity to ask questions as well as becoming more equipped with how to deal with your own mental health and others.  Benny Heron and Eamon Burns are two of the many men onboard.

SIXTOWNS CROSS COMMUNITY GROUP

  • Hallowe’en Celebrations at Sixtowns Hall: Thanks to funding from Mid Ulster District Council.

  • Dance Friday 25 October. Music by Midnight Flyer. Doors open 9.00 pm.

  • Children’s Disco for Primary school children (and younger siblings) on Thursday 31 October from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Adult supervision required.

  • Adults only Disco on Saturday 2 November at 8.00 pm. Supper provided by Delicious. Committee members are now selling tickets.

  • Chair Exercises with Sperrin Wellbeing and Yoga begin in Hall on Monday 4 November from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm for 6 weeks. Suitable for all ages and mobility levels. Come along and get some gentle exercise, meet with others, tea & coffee served afterwards. Thanks to grant funding from Cswan Mid Ulster these classes are free.

  • Painting classes in Hall with local artist Regina McSorley for 4 weeks, commencing Tuesday 5 November from 10.00 am to 12 noon. All materials provided. Notices for First Anniversary and Month's Mind Masses should be received before the Wednesday of the previous week so that, they may be printed in the Bulletin the weekend before the Anniversary Mass.
