LETTER FROM POPE FRANCIS

As we all continue to pray for Pope Francis’s recovery, we would like to remind you of the link on the Parish Facebook page to a letter he recently wrote to the American bishops. It is also on the Vatican website. Some copies of this letter are available in Church porches, to enable those who cannot access it online to also read it.


DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2025 - Monday 30 June - Friday 4 July

Fare £849 (+£144 Single Supplement)

  • The Lourdes Pilgrimage Office is open each week on Thursdays and Saturdays from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm in The Pastoral Centre 164 Bishop Street Derry BT48 6UJ. (028 71260293.) Application forms available at these times or by emailing derrypilgrim@outlook.com

  • There will be a Youth Pilgrimage along with the main group and any young person aged 16 -18 may contact the Pilgrimage Office by phone or email for more information.

  • The Pilgrimage Committee also wish to invite nurses, doctors or care staff who are interested in joining their Care Team to please make contact with the Pilgrimage Office. Details above.


GENERATION FITNESS CLASS

Generation Fitness Classes continue on Wednesdays from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm at Workspace Community Hub, until Wednesday 19 March.  Classes are for ALL AGES to enjoy, with a mixture of exercises to suit all fitness levels. SIXTOWNS CROSS COMMUNITY CENTRE

  • Monthly Social Dance on Friday 28 February at 9.30 pm. Music by Sprig of Heather. Everyone welcome.

  • Chair exercises with Sperrin Wellbeing and Yoga in the Hall each Monday for the next 2 weeks from 11.00 am to  noon. £3 each week, includes a cuppa. No need to book.

DERRY DIOCESAN YOUTH PILGRIMAGE TO FATIMA 2025

Young people aged 16 + are invited to join this diocesan pilgrimage from 14 July to 18 July. This will be a unique experience for young people and an opportunity to engage with their peers from around the world in a faith context. Cost is £700 and there will be a budget plan to help with this. Names and deposit of £100 are required as soon as possible please. If you wish to have a deceased loved one prayed for at any Anniversary Friday Mass, you MUST please email their name to Ballinascreen Parish Office by noon on Thursday of the relevant week. Notices for First Anniversary and Month's Mind Masses should be received before the Wednesday of the previous week so that, they may be printed in the Bulletin the weekend before the Anniversary Mass

  • Read Yourself Well: A collection of books from wellness experts, doctors and bestselling authors are available to borrow for free. There are a number of books out on loan but no details were recorded.  If you are borrowing a book it is necessary to record your name and a contact number. Please return any overdue books or if you require it for a longer period then contact any committee member.

  • Sarsfield’s Accordion Band

    • Sincere sympathy is extended to the Grimes family on the death of John Grimes, grandfather of band member Cara.

    • Band practice Thursdays at 7.30 pm. All members are asked to please attend in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day, which will be in Magherafelt.  New and past members welcome.

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

In this weekend's gospel Jesus reminds us of the challenge to love without discrimination or counting the cost. We pray for those called to preach the Gospel of love as priests of the diocese of Derry.
