LOURDES HOSPITALITÉ COLLECTION

The Lourdes Hospitalité collection, which helps those who wish to go to Lourdes and require care and assistance, will take place in Ballinascreen Parish this weekend  8 /9 February. This church door collection will be taken up after all Masses instead of the usual St Vincent de Paul collection.  As in previous years, the Diocesan Pilgrimage Committee appeal to your generosity for this worthwhile cause as they take the pilgrimage forward facing many new challenges. Thank you.

INVITATION TO MASS – CONCLUDING THE 33 DAYS OF FAMILY PRAYER

As you may be aware, Bishop McKeown has been leading the diocese in 33 days of Family Prayer towards Consecration to Jesus Christ through Mary, as part of the diocesan programme for the Jubilee year of 2025, Pilgrims of Hope. The 33 days concludes on Tuesday, 11 February, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.  Each evening of the 33 days, Bishop McKeown and priests of the diocese have been broadcasting online a short reflection and prayers of the Rosary.  Bishop McKeown now extends an invitation to those who have participated in this journey of prayer to join him in St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry on Tuesday, 11 February at 7.00 pm.  The bishop will pray the final prayers of this journey and lead people in making the Prayer of Consecration. Mass will follow at 7.30 pm.  Certificates to mark the Consecration will be available after Mass. If unable to attend, Certificates may be downloaded at derrydiocese.org/consecration.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2025 (Monday 30 June - Friday 4 July)

Fare £849 (+£144 Single Supplement)

  • The Lourdes Pilgrimage Office will now be open each week on Thursdays and Saturdays 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. in The Pastoral Centre 164 Bishop Street Derry BT48 6UJ. (028 71260293.) Application forms available at these times or by emailing derrypilgrim@outlook.com

  • There will be a Youth Pilgrimage along with the main group and any young person aged 16 -18 may contact the Pilgrimage Office by phone or email for more information.

  • The Pilgrimage Committee also wish to invite nurses, doctors or care staff who are interested in joining their Care Team to please make contact with the Pilgrimage Office. Details above.


MONEYNEENA BIG BREAKFAST

Moneyneena Annual Big Breakfast today, Sunday 9 February, from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm in An Ráth Dubh.  Everyone welcome.


DIAMOND PAINTING

Beginners’ Sessions in the Workspace Community Hub on Tuesdays from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, if interested in learning more just call in to one of the sessions.  Booking not required. Everyone welcome!


WARM WELCOME WEDNESDAYS

 In Workspace Community Hub on Wednesday 12 February from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, Claire from Crafty Mammy Fabrics will facilitate another craft session.  She will also be bringing along her fabric and wool pop-up shop. Sessions are free and suitable for beginners.  All welcome.


SIXTOWNS CROSS COMMUNITY GROUP

Chair exercises with Sperrin Wellbeing and Yoga continue in the Hall each Monday for the next 4 weeks. From 11.00 am to  noon. £3 each week, includes a cuppa. No need to book.


DERRY DIOCESAN YOUTH PILGRIMAGE TO FATIMA 2025

Young people aged 16 + are invited to join this diocesan pilgrimage from 14 July to 18 July. This will be a unique experience for young people and an opportunity to engage with their peers from around the world in a faith context. Cost is £700 and there will be a budget plan to help with this. Names and deposit of £100 are required as soon as possible please. DIVINE MERCY CONFERENCE.

The theme of this year’s Conference, in the RDS Ballsbridge Dublin, is:  ‘Repent…so that a time of refreshing may come.’  Conference on Friday 21 February from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm,  Saturday 22 February from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm and Sunday 23 February from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Notices for First Anniversary and Month's Mind Masses should be received before the Wednesday of the previous week so that, they may be printed in the Bulletin the weekend before the Anniversary Mass

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

This weekend's Gospel tells us that the fishermen who met Jesus "...left everything and followed Him."
