WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES 2018
To celebrate the opening of the WMOF in Dublin on Wednesday August 22, Ballinascreen Parish is hosting a Family Fun Evening in the grounds of Dean McGlinchey Park on Tuesday evening August 21 that will be open to all.
More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
One of the ideas that we are proceeding with is the ~ Great Religious Articles Give Away.
Many families have countless religious articles that are stored in drawers or presses, that have been replaced by newer ones. Many people do not like the idea of throwing the old ones away. Next weekend students currently doing the Pope John Paul II Awards will be at the back of the church at all Masses in Ballinascreen and Desertmartin to collect any religious pictures, medals, statues, rosaries etc that are no longer being used. Religious objects may also be left in the Parish Office during opening hours.
On the evening of the Family Fun Event, a stall will display all these religious articles and for a small anonymous donation those who would like to take one or more home may do so.
OFFICIAL FAMILY PRAYER FOR WMOF2018
God, our Father, we are brothers and sisters in Jesus your Son,
One family, in the Spirit of your love.
Bless us with the joy of love.
Make us patient and kind, gentle and generous, welcoming to those in need.
Help us to live your forgiveness and peace.
Protect all families with your loving care,
Especially those for whom we now pray:
Pause to remember family members and others
Increase our faith, strengthen our hope,
Keep us safe in your love,
Make us always grateful for the gift of life that we share.
This we ask, through Christ our Lord.
Amen
